Need help on revivng my guild
My guild just up and died like 2 or 3 months ago and I was just wonderin if any of you had any ideas on how to get more people interested. So far when i try recruiting they just find out there are only 3 people in my guild then just leave. If its just hopless then I guess I'm looking for a guild if any ones recruiting. I just want a good size guild for when Factions comes out since i hear they're a big part in it.

I suggest merging with another guild. I'm in my 4th guild now and I'm no longer a leader. Too much stress, lol.

I suggest not envoking the wrath of the admins for they will swiftly close your thread. Best way to get recruits (pve anyway) is to get a presear character and invite anyone that wants to be in a guild. THEN go to post sear and advertise your guild (when you get a decent number in presear) and say +30 member guild etcetc.
For PvP I would say the best way is to invite some friends and get your guild to HoH a couple times to let the world know you can pvp. Then go recruit right after. --edit-- the WORST way to recruit is this: "The [Insert guild name here] is recruiting [Pick one: Xpert or ALL] players!!!1 Must have a [Select Minimum Level Here] Character! We Have COOL capes and [Pick one: working on hall or COOL Hall]!! [Insert desperateness here: Message me for Invite]!!1[optional desperateness: (must pay 100g to join guild]" How to recruit: "The [Insert guild name here] is currently recruiting knowledgeable and skilled members. Our guild is aimed at[List what your guild does: ex. High End Farming or PvP/GvG/HoH]. Please contact me for further details." good luck. When my guild went on its recruiting spree, I whispered guildless people with an opening message along the lines of "Are you interested in joining a guild by the name [insert guild here]." Some people said sure and joined right away, some people wanted some questions answered first, some ignored me, and some just cussed me out. So it's a mixed bag, but I was able to recruit about 8 of the 30 members we added to the guild that day.

Recruiting new members and keeping current members active is a tricky subject. My guild is going through similar pains... as the new content is coming soon I suspect there will be a new crop of recruits soon, but want to rebuild the excitement level of existing people now.
Problem 1: How to keep people engaged
Problem 2: Recruiting new people
Those are the things I would try. |

If you're wanting to merge, try to look for a guild you already know people in and are friends with, leads to a lot less potential future problems.
How to meet people in other guilds or find new members? See Cymboric's post, lots of good ideas there. Other suggestions: -Go randomly help out on missions. I met most of the friends (and thus allied guilds and such) I have through monking various missions. As far as keeping people once they get in: -If they are new, or usually play a lower level character, go with them most places (not everywhere, just most missions and quests; especially those that they might find hard). -If they are more experienced, have them help those who are advancing. -If everyone is extremely experienced, put together high-end farming events, elite skill capture groups, or PvP events. Careful on having everyone experienced high-end farm/PvP while one or two people are left to advance everywhere on their own, the new people likely won't stay in. Also beware ignoring the needs of experienced people, they will want to have fun outside of lower level stuff too. I think the reason our guild is so successful is because everyone feels like they have a part of ownership of the guild. It's not "I'm the leader and I make the decisions," but rather "what does everyone think about X?" IMO Friends >>> Guildies you barely know In factions, I believe the biggest addition (from my point) to guilds will be the ability to form alliances. This is one thing our guild has been working on, to get alliances with various guilds that are similar (mixed PvE/PvP). |

I'm currently offering 10k bonuses to Officers for each invite that stays a week or longer. That seems to help.

Tell your officers to recruit as many ppl as possible to increase your quantity. Party with new members frequently. Learn what their individual goals are, and help them achieve their goals (e.g. reach level 20, build a 55hp monk to farm, reach X number of fame, unlock all skills, etc.). Assisting new members to achieve their personal goals in the game will build a bond. I try to bond with each of my members on a daily basis. It only takes 1 mission or skill cap or pvp run each day. Once new members seem happy and active, I try to suggest goals for them to reach for GvG or HA, and assist with those new goals as well. Since you have few members, you should be able to build strong relationships with each new member. If you try this concept, you'll probably have 10-20 members in less than a month.

What my guild has done is we had 2-5 people in the beginning and decided to keep it that way until we were staisfied with each others game style. Since we mainly do PvE we did missions and everything with other people in the enviroment. After a month of getting to know each other we have now built the officers out of those we played with. We just currently started looking for members. We are taking only the active members and if they are not active on a weekly basis then we let them go. But I do have to say build up friendships with other guilds.

"Cool Capes" is not a good selling point. EVERYONE has "cool capes" (except a couple of Aussie friends of mine - they made ugly capes on purpose. LOL) Another good way for a small guild to recruit in the PvP realm is to go into Team Arenas - if 2 or 3 of your party are guildies (and you've got mad skills), you've got a good chance of making a good impression on at least 1 person. In PvE, I've found that people prefer to join "Guild Groups" over regular PUGs. A few of my guildies have been doing tombs runs and filling up the party with pick-ups. With the success we have (with a couple of different builds), we're making quite a few friends and I'm always getting whispers "Hey, you guys doing a tombs run?" (having TS or Vent. is a BIG plus when doing it, too) |

Part of the problem is getting people to stay. We have built a community with a web site where all can communicate on the forums, news articles and events are posted for all to see.
Recruiting new members. Already been mentioned about getting new players from pre sear. Also, our guild is listed on GW Guru and several other places. We have a charter for all to read so they know who we are and can decide if they want to join, knowing what they are getting into before they join. |

Another suggestion is to have a guild website, such as a forum site. (Proboards.com is great) This way you can share builds and other helpful information as well as keep in touch outside the game. Forming real friendships keeps guilds together. Also teaming up reguarly keeps guilds together, so posting guild events via your website proves to be of advantage.
But overall the key is activity, it's no fun when people in your guild aren't on the same times as you, or if they keep to themselves by way of solo farming. |
